Terms of Use
Last Updated: July 1, 2026
Welcome to Lectio Vitae.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of lectiovitae.com, your Lectio Vitae account, subscriptions, talks, videos, audio recordings, articles, Waypoints reflections, downloads, emails, exercises, written materials, and other content, products, features, and services we make available (collectively, the “Services”).
Lectio Vitae (“Lectio Vitae,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a United States company based in Arizona.
Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.
1. About Lectio Vitae
Lectio Vitae provides educational and formation content intended to help people develop focus, resilience, discipline, perseverance, adaptability, discernment, courage, clarity, and other qualities associated with personal and spiritual formation.
Our offerings include a structured series of talks designed to build upon one another, along with Waypoints reflections exploring faith, formation, culture, and everyday life.
Lectio Vitae draws from a variety of sources and disciplines, including Christian and Catholic thought, Scripture, theology, philosophy, history, neuroscience, psychology, personal development, and practical experience.
Our content is provided for educational, informational, and formation purposes.
2. Eligibility
The Services are intended for adults age 18 and older.
By creating an account or purchasing a subscription, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.
3. Accounts
Certain Lectio Vitae content and features require an account.
You agree to provide accurate and current information when creating and maintaining your account.
You are responsible for:
-
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your username, password, and other account credentials;
- All activity occurring through your account;
- Keeping your account information reasonably current; and
- Promptly notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed or used without authorization.
Your Lectio Vitae account is intended for your individual use unless we expressly offer a subscription or license permitting multiple users.
You may not sell, transfer, sublicense, or otherwise provide your account credentials to another person.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being shared, compromised, misused, or used in violation of these Terms.
4. Subscriptions
Some Lectio Vitae content is available only through a paid subscription.
The price, subscription period, features, and other material terms applicable to a subscription will be disclosed at or before the time of purchase.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, paid subscriptions automatically renew for successive subscription periods until canceled.
By purchasing an automatically renewing subscription, you authorize the applicable payment processor to charge your selected payment method for the subscription price and any applicable taxes at each renewal, unless you cancel before the applicable renewal date.
Subscription prices may change from time to time. If the price of an automatically renewing subscription changes, we will provide any advance notice required by applicable law before the new price applies to a renewal.
5. Checkout and Payment
Checkout and payment processing for Lectio Vitae subscriptions are handled through Shopify and applicable payment providers.
By purchasing a subscription or other paid offering, you agree to provide accurate billing and payment information and authorize the applicable charges associated with your purchase.
Lectio Vitae does not directly store your complete credit or debit card number.
Your use of Shopify or another third-party payment service may also be subject to that provider’s terms, policies, and privacy practices.
We are not responsible for a payment processor’s independent acts or omissions except to the extent required by applicable law.
6. Automatic Renewal
If your subscription is identified at checkout as automatically renewing, it will continue to renew until canceled.
The renewal frequency, subscription price, and other material renewal terms will be presented at or before purchase.
You authorize recurring charges to your payment method according to the subscription terms presented when you subscribe, subject to any changes communicated to you in accordance with applicable law.
You may cancel an automatically renewing subscription using the cancellation method made available through your account or by contacting Lectio Vitae at mm@lectiovitae.com.
Cancellation stops future renewals but does not ordinarily terminate access for a subscription period you have already paid for.
We will provide renewal notices, cancellation mechanisms, or other disclosures where required by applicable law.
7. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time.
Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, cancellation becomes effective at the end of your then-current paid subscription period. You may continue accessing subscription content through the remainder of that period.
After the subscription period ends, access to subscriber-only content may be discontinued.
Canceling your subscription does not automatically delete your Lectio Vitae account or personal information. Requests concerning personal information are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
8. Refunds
Except where otherwise stated at the time of purchase or required by applicable law, subscription payments are non-refundable once charged.
Canceling a subscription prevents future renewal charges but does not ordinarily entitle you to a refund or prorated refund for the unused portion of a current subscription period.
If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us at mm@lectiovitae.com so we can review the matter.
Nothing in this section limits refund or cancellation rights that cannot legally be waived.
9. Intellectual Property

All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Lectio Vitae.
Nothing in this section limits refund or cancellation rights that cannot legally be waived.

Limited quotations for purposes such as commentary, criticism, scholarship, or discussion may be permitted under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to restrict lawful fair use or other rights provided by law.
12. Use of Content with Artificial Intelligence
You may not use Lectio Vitae subscriber-only content, recordings, written materials, or other proprietary materials to train, fine-tune, develop, populate, or substantially reproduce content through an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system without our prior written permission.
This restriction does not prohibit ordinary personal use of generally available AI tools in a manner that does not reproduce, distribute, commercialize, or create a substitute for Lectio Vitae content.
13. Trademarks
“Lectio Vitae,” the Lectio Vitae name, logos, branding, slogans, graphics, and other source-identifying elements are trademarks or proprietary identifiers of Lectio Vitae.
Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use Lectio Vitae trademarks, logos, or branding in a manner suggesting sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, or authorization without our prior written permission.

- In any manner that materially interferes with another person’s use of the Services.
15. Educational and Formation Purposes Only
Lectio Vitae provides educational, informational, and formation content.
Although our content may discuss subjects involving personal development, relationships, habits, neuroscience, psychology, faith, spirituality, health, culture, decision-making, and other aspects of life, Lectio Vitae does not provide individualized medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, or other licensed professional advice.
The Services are not a substitute for appropriate professional care, diagnosis, treatment, counseling, or advice.
You remain responsible for your own decisions, actions, and circumstances.
16. Religious and Theological Content
Lectio Vitae openly incorporates Christian and Catholic thought, Scripture, tradition, spirituality, and theological perspectives as part of its educational and formation mission.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Lectio Vitae is an independent organization and is not an official agency, ministry, or representative of the Catholic Church, a diocese, parish, religious order, or other ecclesiastical body.
References to Catholic or Christian teachings, saints, clergy, religious organizations, Scripture, or Church documents do not imply endorsement of Lectio Vitae by any particular religious institution or authority.
17. Third-party Content Links
The Services may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, videos, payment processors, social-media platforms, resources, or services.
These links are provided for convenience or informational purposes.
Lectio Vitae does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their availability, content, security, products, services, privacy practices, or terms.
Your use of a third-party service is governed by that third party’s applicable terms and policies.
18. Availability of Services
We work to keep Lectio Vitae available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
We may periodically:
-
- Perform maintenance;
- Modify website features;
- Add or remove content;
- Update or replace talks and resources;
- Change technical providers;
- Modify subscription offerings; or
- Temporarily suspend portions of the Services.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue portions of the Services, subject to applicable law and our obligations to existing subscribers.
19. Suspension or Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if we reasonably believe you have materially violated these Terms, misused the Services, infringed our intellectual property, engaged in fraud, compromised website security, or allowed unauthorized persons to use your account.
Where reasonable under the circumstances, we may provide notice and an opportunity to correct the violation.
Serious misconduct, fraud, security threats, deliberate copyright infringement, or systematic unauthorized distribution may result in immediate suspension or termination.
Termination does not eliminate obligations or liabilities that arose before termination.
20. Dislaimer of Warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS.
LECTIO VITAE MAKES NO GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, COMPLETELY SECURE, OR SUITABLE FOR EVERY USER.
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY PARTICULAR PERSONAL, SPIRITUAL, PROFESSIONAL, FINANCIAL, RELATIONSHIP, HEALTH, OR OTHER RESULT FROM USING LECTIO VITAE.
YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES AND APPLICATION OF INFORMATION PRESENTED THROUGH THEM ARE AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
21. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LECTIO VITAE AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LECTIO VITAE’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO LECTIO VITAE DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
These limitations apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
22. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lectio Vitae and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Services, your material violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.
This provision does not require you to indemnify Lectio Vitae for conduct for which indemnification cannot lawfully be required.
23. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us.
Our collection, use, retention, and disclosure of personal information are described in the Lectio Vitae Privacy Policy, which forms part of your relationship with the Services.
By using Lectio Vitae, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review our Privacy Policy.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, business practices, technology, or applicable law.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
If a change materially affects an existing paid subscription or your legal rights, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
Your continued use of the Services after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
25. Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Services will be governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable federal law or another law that cannot legally be waived applies.
26. Dispute Resolution and Venue
Before filing a lawsuit concerning these Terms or the Services, you and Lectio Vitae agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally.
You may initiate this process by contacting us at mm@lectiovitae.com with a description of the issue.
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, any legal proceeding arising from these Terms or the Services will be brought in an appropriate state or federal court located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to the jurisdiction and venue of those courts, except where applicable law gives you a non-waivable right to bring a claim elsewhere.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking appropriate relief concerning actual or threatened intellectual-property infringement, unauthorized access, misuse of proprietary content, or other circumstances where immediate judicial relief may be appropriate.
27. No Waiver
If Lectio Vitae does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.
28. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law or severed if necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
29. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly presented in connection with a particular subscription, purchase, or feature, constitute the agreement between you and Lectio Vitae concerning your use of the Services.
If specific terms presented at checkout conflict with these Terms regarding price, billing period, renewal, or a particular subscription offering, the specific terms presented for that offering will control with respect to that issue.
30. Contact Us
If you have questions concerning these Terms, your subscription, or your use of Lectio Vitae, please email us at mm@lectiovitae.com.
